My 40 years of Joy & Sorrow

There are three memorable periods of my life; my University days, after I got married & after I retired. The most vivid memory of my University days was going to late parties & playing Majong & got up too late to attend lectures so I got John Wong to copy notes for me with carbon paper. I am sure you all have experienced the joy of getting married, having kids (I have two, one girl & one boy) but I also experienced the bitterness of devoice after 15 years.

After graduation, I worked for Telstra for 32 years with no regrets. I always enjoyed the challenging work throughout my career especially the two & a half years in Saudi Arabia managing their entire telecommunications network. It was a great disappointment after the contract was lost to the Germans in 1995 & I felt unwanted so I took an early retirement in 1997.

I was determined to enjoy myself after retirement. Now I have a partner with whom I play bridge & dance three times a week. We travel overseas twice a years either with cruise ships or guided tours. We also enjoy travelling in Australia as I love driving & fishing.

I attribute my good health to active retirement life so go dancing, walking the tracks & stimulate your brain with intellectual card game like Bridge !!
