A note from Ros on the GHS 90th plans.
Just a reminder that the GHS 90th Celebration is only 2 weeks away ie. Saturday September 21st. I hope those of you who live not too far away will be able to attend on the day. Let’s hope the weather is a lot warmer and the wind has dropped.
ABRIDGED INFORMATION:
OFFICIAL OPENING
TIME & EVENT:
10:00am - 11.am The Official Opening Ceremony is in the Gosford High School Hall (next to the Golf Club)
OTHER INFO: The ceremony will run for approximately 1 hour. You are then invited to move across to the school where various activities are planned. There will be school tours through the buildings including classrooms, specialist rooms, the archives & musical performances, food trucks and more happening throughout the grounds.
(The only function that will occur on Friday 20th September is a School Assembly from 12-15 pm to 1pm at which the 90th Anniversary of the School will be a focus and some Life Members of the P & C will be special guests. This is basically an assembly for the students and staff & certain special guests)
AFTER THE OFFICIAL OPENING & TOUR of THE SCHOOL
As the School Hall is right next to the Golf Club, the suggestion is to meet informally at the Golf Club after the OPENING and TOUR possibly for a snack, drink, coffee and plenty of talk and catch up. (1 – 1-30pm earlier or later…..very flexible)
I’ll ask Les Gregory to check with the Club. She might have already done so as she is so efficient!
One of the spin offs to this gathering is to get some more feedback regarding a possible 60th REUNION next year 2020 (prob. Oct or early Nov)
for the 1956-1960 group. Thanks to those who have already passed on their thoughts. There seems to be considerable interest.
